The nearest ski area (Hochwang) is located above St. Peter, about 10-15 minutes by car from Castiel. Here you will be transported to a height of 2300 meters by comfortable chair and a drag lift. The ski area is very sunny and therefore highly recommended, especially in January and February.
Within a range of a 30-minutes drive or easily accessible by bus and train, you will find the world-famous ski resorts of Arosa, at the end of the Schanfigg valley, south of Chur Lenzerheide and Flims-Laax-west of Chur. All these resorts have an international reputation and offer you all kinds of winter sports opportunities. For example you could visit Flims for a glacier skiing trip.
